Why is it important?

The relevance of the proposed quantum synapse falls at the interconnect and control levels between distributed traditional and quantum sensors, exploiting the pre-processing and distribution functionalities of neurons. As the underlying physics, semiconductor, mathematical and technology results are to be found in earlier companion papers, readers mostly interested in these aspects are referred to such papers, as the present submission is on two novel specific quantum synapse specifications and models. The proposed quantum synapse is conjectured to be especially useful in high performance sensor fusion tasks, including the monitoring and control of distributed quantum processing and sensing systems.
