What is it about?

We demonstrated that thermal dosimetry in photothermal therapy is a vital method for leading to reliable tumor eradication.

Why is it important?

Before a PTT with a near-infrared absorber is performed, the operator usually determines two parameters: fluence rate and exposure time. This is the cause of the unstable therapeutic effect of photothermal therapy. Our results indicated the cause of these and showed that thermal dosimetry in photothermal therapy could lead to reliable tumor eradication.

Perspectives

All photothermal therapy may be performed by this method described in this article. We hope that a lot of evidence related to photothermal therapy will be accumulated.
