What is it about?
In this work, we tried to find an easier and non-invasive way to diagnose endometriosis. We measured blood serum samples using Raman spectroscopy analyzed the measurements using classification methods such as KNN and SVM. Results showed that one can classify endometriosis state with high sensitivity and specificity (80.5 % and 89.5% in our situation). We will continue this study by building the measurement system in an hospital and use the developed model in the clinic.

Why is it important?
This is the first study that uses serum samples to diagnose endometriosis.
Perspectives
If the use of this method in the clinic will be possible, it can improve life quality of the patients since they will not have to have surgery for diagnostic purposes.
