Why is it important?
Tick-borne diseases are very prominent in the United States and other parts of the world, this work would open new avenues to better understand tick biology.
Perspectives
This work demonstrates a research platform to carry out metabolism related studies in a 'not so well understood' system as the deer tick or Ixodes scapularis that causes Lyme disease.
