What is it about?
Here we descibed a novel dsRNA virus has been identified and characterized from a structural, molecular, and biological point of view. With its flexuous and elongated virions, which encapsidates eight fragmented dsRNA genome, this virus displays novel molecular and structural features previously unreported for any dsRNA virus.

Why is it important?
The discovery of the first known dsRNA virus possessing filamentous virions, with the longest virion, is a significant addition to evolutionary diversity of genome and particle architectures that characterize the ever growing virosphere.
