What is it about?
Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), originally identified as a longevity gene, is induced by caloric restriction and regulates various cellular functions. In this study, we found the new role of SIRT1 in endometrial cancer.

Why is it important?
SIRT1 was overexpressed in endometrial cancer and related to poor outcomes. SIRT1 promoted cancer cell growth in endometrial cancer cells in vivo and in vitro. SIRT1 inhibitor, EX527 can inhibit cancer cell growth in vivo and in vitro.
