What is it about?
✅ In a #Nature Correspondence (14 July 2025, https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-025-02213-6 ) I raised a serious concern about the assassination of scientists. Targeting scientists—or their homes and families—for political or military reasons is a violation of human rights and a threat to global science. It silences ideas, delays crucial discoveries, and undermines trust between communities. While scientists may support national security, their broader contributions to global science, technology, and fundamental research must not be ignored. The scientific community must stand united to protect researchers everywhere with no exception! Together, we can keep science focused on enhancing quality of life for everyone and building a better future. ✊✌️

Why is it important?
In times of division, science must bridge gaps—not widen them.

As professors and scientists it is our shared duty to defend the principles that science stands for: truth, openness, and peace.
