What is it about?

Par-4 is a proapoptotic protein with tumor suppressor activity. The presented work includes the structural characterization of the C-terminal coiled-coil domain, which contains a putative nuclear export sequence and a leucine zipper domain.

Why is it important?

This work shows the first crystallographic evidence for the dimerization of Par-4 with its C-terminal coiled-coil domain. Moreover, we could differentiate the homodimerization and heterodimerization domain (Leucine zipper domain).
