What is it about?
Transition from turbulent to laminar pipe flow, not laminar-to-turbulent transition.

Why is it important?
The reverse transition or the relaminarization does not violate the second law of thermodynamics.
Perspectives
We stady the transition from a viewpoint of whole flow entropy change, not increase of disturbance. The point is fundamental in physics. This idea and the conservations of mass flow rate or monetum can explain the transition in a pipe flow and a boundary layer flow.
