What is it about?

This book review discusses the main premise of Alex Tizon's memoir -- that the Asian male is perceived in the US as weak, effeminate and unassertive.

Perspectives

In my review, I briefly relate Tizon's premise to my own experience as an Asian American male of mixed descent. Though his premise may be generally accurate, his apparent resolution -- that the Asian male can be stronger, more athletic, more assertive, in sum, more masculine -- will continue to unnecessarily alienate a significant portion of the subject population.
