What is it about?
The Child and Adolescent Mindfulness Measure (CAMM) assesses the construct of mindfulness in children and adolescents. The present study examines the reliability and validity evidence for use of CAMM scores in racial minority adolescents from low-income environments.

Why is it important?
Our findings reveal that CAMM scores reliably and validly assess mindfulness in racial minority adolescents from low-income environments. This is important because there is very little reliability and validity evidence for use of CAMM scores in racial minority adolescents from low-income environments. Having a measure with reliable and valid scores for use in this population will aid in understanding the mechanisms by which mindfulness-based interventions work, which could lead to improved interventions and outcomes for this population.
