What is it about?
In the current study we showed that being behaviorally flexible (having the ability to apply multiple behaviors in different situations) is associated with health behaviors that contribute to better cardiac health. Increasing behavioral flexibility might add to better cardiac health.

Why is it important?
As lifestyle behavior is an important risk factor for the development and prognosis of cardiac disease, it is important to know what the facilitators of these health behaviors are. This knowledge can be used to develop behavioral interventions to improve health behavior in cardiac patient population.
Perspectives
This is the first study to highlight the role of behavioral flexibility in health behavior. I hope this will inspire more researchers to look into this concept and also further examine the underlying mechanism between flexibility and health behavior.
