In an effort to support teams to adapt successfully to unexpected events, we investigated the process through which teams undergo when responding to challenging conditions .

Why is it important?
Findings showed that gaining a better picture of the unexpected event and incorporating this information directly in plans and actions may be beneficial for teams when adapting to an unexpected event. After engaging in actual performance, moving back to previous phases, such as plan formulation, to revisit them it was found to be beneficial for teams when adapting to an unexpected event.
