What is it about?
We propose a framework that enables the evaluation of a large number of climate models by numerous performance metrics, which can be customized toward a specific impact assessment perspective under climate change (e.g., agriculture, flood control, or else). The customization is performed by weighting the performance metrics. The results show a good performance of the proposed method in evaluating the climate model for the Indochina region. A simple and user‐friendly decision graph of all model members for the ensemble selection is developed, and its usefulness is demonstrated.

Why is it important?
The evaluation framework herein is flexible for users to evaluate climate model for their interested region, by just changing the weight on metrics.
Perspectives
This framework can be developed to user-friendly software for each meteorological agency of each country to used and decide the climate model for their interesting application of climate simulation data.
