What is it about?

The optical response of LSPR transducers can be measured in the transmission (absorption) or reflection geometries. In this short work, we characterized the bulk sensitivity (RIS) in either case, and showed that the reflection geometry offers significantly higher sensitivity compared to transmission, by 42% to ~180%, for different systems.
