Why is it important?

This successful strategy is achieved with the nanoparticles assembled fully from natural polyphenols of biocompatible, low-cost, and safe food additives.

Perspectives

The present study concludes that orally administrable binary polyphenol nanoparticles of curcumin and tannic acid exhibit a synergic therapeutic efficacy for IBD, of the active components in the diets, showing the great potential for natural polyphenols in the treatment and even prevention of gastrointestinal diseases.
