What is it about?
Cellulose nanocrystals with aldehyde functionality was synthesized and used for reinforcement agent for polyvinyl alcohol film. Due to the aldehyde groups, significantly higher strength of composites was obtained compared to pure polyvinyl alcohol film and composites produced using cellulose nanocrystals without aldehyde groups.
