What is it about?

Solar-powered water splitting with photoelectrochemical (PEC) devices is a promising method to simultaneously harvest and store solar energy at a large scale. To optimise a PEC, you need coupled physical models. We review here key physical processes and models in PECs and the physical models used in their theoretical simulations.
