What is it about?

The paper report a high catalytic activity of the organic-inorganic composites in the reaction of ethanol etherification with iso-butylene. The composites consist of a fine-dispersed fraction of the commercial gel-type sulfonic resin and zirconia. The “dilution” of the sulfonic resin by zirconia not only stabilizes the dispersed phase of sulfonic resin but also significantly increases its productivity.
