What is it about?

Methane being a potent greenhouse gas, its leakage from underground sources into biosphere is an environmental problem. Accurate estimates of this leakage are essential to address this problem. How do the molecular scale interactions of methane, water, electrolytes and minerals commonly present in the sources affect the leakage? Can better estimates of these molecular interactions affect the estimates of macroscopic leakage? This paper explores these questions.
