What is it about?

Phenotypic information serves as a basis for designing appropriate conservation and breeding strategies for goats. It should be substantiated with genetic characterization to guide the overall goat breeding and conservation programmes.

Why is it important?

We have Identified unique breed in the area and this shows the write way of breed identification. Linear body measurements especially heart girth and body length had strong positive correlation with body weight. Body weight can be estimated from this variables especially at farmers level where spring balance is not available.

Perspectives

This article is intensive work and highly important for geneticist and breeders to have more information about identification of breeds and how to start Genetic improvement program.
