Why is it important?

Well-being at work is an important issue and currently many healthcare (and other) staff report high rates of stress and anxiety at work. Approaches which help staff manage themselves and improve their well-being will have an impact on this. This is one approach that has been successfully used in a large NHS organisation. Staff gave positive feedback and their scores on a well-being measure improved after the course.

Perspectives

Staff well-being is an area I am passionate about. We spend much of our lives working so to make it a good experience as much as possible is important. Also, I have experienced and observed many poor behaviours in health care (as well as good ones). I don't think people come to work to behave badly but I think people can learn how to help and manage themselves. This is why I undertook this work.
