What is it about?
Palliative care helps patients and their family cope with advanced illness, but the general population is not knowledgeable or aware of this type of care. We created a scale to assess how much laypeople know about palliative care.

Why is it important?
In order for individuals to access palliative care, they have to know what it is. This scale will help clinicians and researchers understand where patients and family members have gaps in knowledge about palliative care that may be preventing them from accessing this life-improving service.
