What is it about?

As part of the analysis for the R21 parent study, we found that adolescents' continued their relationship with their deceased parent in a variety of ways.

Why is it important?

This article is important for healthcare providers who interact with adolescents who have lost a parent to cancer. Understanding that the bond between a parent and the adolescent remains strong and present is useful in guiding adolescence through their grief.

Perspectives

This article provided an opportunity for me to evaluate family relationships at the end of life from a unique perspective.
