Why is it important?

Matrix Multiplication and row reduction are the first topics studied in any linear algebra course. They are related in an interesting way. The motivation for this article is teachable to undergraduates.

Perspectives

Row Reduction was defined over a century and a half ago. This new property found in only one Modern textbook seems interesting to explore. Pierre Leroux is the author of this textbook and seems to be the only person to have noticed this phenomenon. We study the idea from a bit of an abstract perspective.
