Why is it important?
In order to improve hospital care provided to people with dementia, we need to understand the barriers to providing quality care. The findings from our staff survey identified the environment, inadequate staffing levels and workload, time, and staff knowledge and skills as barriers to implementing best practice dementia care.
Perspectives
The survey findings highlighted hospital staff perceived barriers to implementing best practice dementia care that can be used to inform locally tailored improvement interventions.
