This review will focus the role of pork products in the epidemiology of Salmonella foodborne infection in different European countries.

Its importance is linked to the wide distribution of pork meat and products thereof in all European countries

Perspectives

My personal perspective is that Salmonella control will start at pig farms in all EU countries, thus identifying positive animals before they enter the food chain.
