Authoritarian regimes are generally thought to be unstable. But the Chinese communist regime defies constant predictions of its collapse and demonstrates its resilience. This research answers why.
Perspectives
This research is based on the authors' in-depth field research across China. My coauthor and I believe we have obtained rich first-hand knowledge about how the Chinese regime works on the ground. We provide a fresh perspective to examine authoritarian regimes from inside out.
