What is it about?

In a previous paper (A. Popa, Phys. Rev. A, 84, 023824, 2011) we proved that the solutions of the equation of motion of electron in electromagnetic field can be put in the form of functions depending of only one variable, which is the phase of the electromagnetic field. We apply this solution to simplify the calculation of the radiation damping parameters in the above interaction.

Why is it important?

Our solution simplifies the modeling of the interactions between ultraintense laser fields and electron plasmas, or relativistic beams of electrons.

Perspectives

A synthesis of my results in the above field of research were published in two books: 1. A. Popa, Theory of Quantum and Classical Connections in Modeling Atomic, Molecular and Electrodynamic Systems, Elsevier-Academic Press, Amsterdam, Boston, Heidelberg, 2014. 2. A. Popa, Applications of Quantum and Classical Connections in Modeling Atomic, Molecular and Electrodynamic Systems, Elsevier-Academic Press, Amsterdam, Boston, Heidelberg, 2014.
