Why is it important?

The article uses the case of music festivals to explore how social interaction converges to certain communal processes with structural characteristics. It is as such a study of how communities and societies evolve in a broader sense.

Perspectives

I have written this article on basis of being a rock music festival enthusiast. As a sociologist I was struck about the similarities between festivals and that particular observation motivated a closer exploration of social processes within festivals. The article is a major contribution to a continued interest on the relation between societal development and social interaction.
