Why is it important?
This study reveals that the level of ageism, as represented by attitudes and discriminatory behaviour towards older people in Korea. The finding suggests that older people themselves need to expand their awareness of ageism and undergo an internal change of attitude to reduce the accustomed negative image. And one way to prevent age discrimination among younger people is to change their negative perception of older people.
