What is it about?
The word addiction has undergone change in its connotation. Addiction , is now considered a disease. Historically , that is until about the early 19th century the term connoted propensity or preference for certain substances or acts.

The United States is now dealing with a major opioid crisis. It is time now to take a look at what it means to be addicted from a historical perspective.
