What is it about?

Alcohol use and major depressive disorder co-occur at a relatively high rate, but it is unclear why this happens. We found that over half of their co-occurrence is due to common genetic factors. Most of this genetic influence was related to a tendency to experience negative emotions and lack impulse control .
