What is it about?

Jesus' preaching at Nazareth has puzzled many readers for quite some time. He seems to meet an enthusiastic response by his hometown, and to immediately rebuke them for giving him a sour welcome. This article shows that Jesus is actually refusing to serve the special interest of his fellow citizens. This pericope has often been seen as incoherent or piecemeal. Understanding the correct meaning of Jesus' words leads to give the full intended meaning of this scripture. This in turn leads to understand highlight how fundamental is Jesus perception of not benefiting his own nation only, but all nations, from the outset of his ministry.

Perspectives

This paper actually feels like a gift of God. To find an useful point that could be convincingly argued without having been made recently was an exhilarating experience.
