What is it about?

Shovelhead worms are relatively small group of marine bristleworms possessing a distinct spade like head region and paired palps used in feeding. A description of a new species of shovelhead worm (Magelonidae) from South-eastern Iran and new records of several other shovelhead worm species.

Why is it important?

This work continues on from several other papers on the Magelonidae of the Arabian Sea region (Mortimer, 2010; Mortimer et al., 2012) and this suite of papers comprises a review of all known shovelhead worms of this region.
