What is it about?

It studies the age and size distribution of weevers on the East Anglian shore and shows that they follow regular seasonal migrations. They live for upwards of 20 years, which is surprisingly long for a small fish.

Why is it important?

Previous studies had data which suggested that weevers disappeared when about 6 years old. It was assumed that they had probably died. We demonstrated that at this age they moved close to the East Anglian shore where they continue to live for many more years.
