I prove the equivalence of two different mathematical treatment of collisionless linear Landau damping

Why is it important?
The formalism alternative to that of Landau (based on the Hermite transform of the perturbed distribution function) has been extensively used in recent years (even nonlinearly) but this proof was missing.
