What is it about?

The crossover from classical to quantum charged-particle beam description is here presented

Featured Image

Why is it important?

It is important because it allows to try to construct a descrition of charged-particle beam which is more fundamental and try to see a continuation between the quantum-like description (in the thermal regime, i.e., thermal emittance) and the more fundamental quantum description (fundamental emittance, i.e., compton wavelength.

Perspectives

An important step to deal with coming from the thermal regime toward the quantum regime is the Wigner cristal formation.
