Why is it important?

Several introduced trematode species have been causing massive die-off events of Lesser Scaup since the early 2000's. Understanding the infracommunities across a geospatial gradient is an important first step towards identifying the underlying factors of parasitism as they relate to Lesser Scaup health.

Perspectives

This work is the first of a 2 part publication. The latter is in review.
