What is it about?
The constitutional position relating to general property and land rights in Zimbabwe has always been controversial. The paper gives an analysis of the conflictual social relations engendered by the provisions, particularly those on land in the last two decades. It analyses the position of the 2013 constitution of Zimbabwe, and the extent such position can be described as the culmination of generations of social conflicts over land rights in Zimbabwe.
