What is it about?

The article is about the historical evolution of the economic growth paradigm and how the original rationale for consistent economic growth has become outmoded. Current political-economic pushes toward growth are irrational. The article does not argue that economic growth should or could stop, but that is should not be an end in itself.

Why is it important?

The article is important because it introduces the concept of permaculture into the mainstream understanding of economic growth.

Perspectives

Many environmentally-conscious individuals are currently writing about growth from various perspectives but in critiquing growth they do not show how that economic growth paradigm historically came to be so influential. My article does this so that the larger public discourse about growth can be more practical.
