What is it about?

My aim was to trace some connection between public ceremonies such as contiones or trials and public feast. The argument developed from a passage in Cicero's letters commenting from Cilicia about what was happening in the city of Rome and linking popularis initiatives (furiosae contiones) and religious feast (molestae Quinquatrus).

Why is it important?

There heve been several studies on contiones in the Late Republic, but while the question of its location has been studied, nothing has been done about timescheduling.
