What is it about?
After a lexical-stylistic analysis of its frequencies, it can be affirmed that the term aequor is used in Vergil's Aeneid almost exclusively in prophetic passages to denote a sea that unlike other seas enjoys the protection of the gods, in reference to both the voyage from Troy as the mare nostrum that unites the domains of Augustus.
