What is it about?

In case of the traces of the Roman army on the barbarian territories of the Middle Danube region since their discovery there was a number of persisting issues and questions, amongst other in case of their chronological position and possible association with possible Roman military interventions. In this respect the paper outlines the results of the interdisciplinary project of several institutions under which it was possible to establish more precise and convincing chronological position of these unique types of archaeological traces, which usually leave rather scarce or unstratified indices for archaeological dating.

Why is it important?

In case of the temporary camps in the Middle Danube region the independent chronological establishment apart from the archaeological was missing on larger scale.

Perspectives

It was a unique experience as the independent source of information in form of radiocarbon dates shaped the present state of knowledge. Tha paper contains knowledge ascertained during the longer course of time.
