What is it about?

This paper presents a shortened version of the Happiness at Work scale. This paper shortens, step by step, and following accepted methods, the 31 item previous scale, to a short and operational 9 item scale. This scale is validated and therefore can be used in any future research. The items are included in the paper.

Why is it important?

Happiness at Work needs a measurement scale, and this paper provides a statistically strong scale, but also a practical one, as it is shortened to 9 items. This will facilitate data gathering, while maintaining the properties of the original scale.

Perspectives

This scale will help HR managers and academics in developing models to improve quality of life at work of employees. For example, the mutual gains model can be improved by the scale offered in this paper.
