This is a model to simulate real life bronchoscope use and disinfection or sterilization

Why is it important?
This model demonstrated the danger of delayed processing in persistence of micro-organisms on the endoscope. Also, this model gives useful insight on the flushing as a very important part of culture. Lastly, sterilization does not work if the organisms are not adequately mechanically removed.
Perspectives
Endoscopes are essential part of medical care. The safety of their use are extremely important. immediate processing and longer enzymatic soaking as needed are important steps in assuring safety of endoscopic use.
