What is it about?

At the time of the climate change with rising ocean levels it is an addition to the Paris Agreement for a crucial new option by the now possible access to nuclear energy without the problem of radioactive radiation. The LASER BORON FUSION is leading to a reactor being built with present day technology as "best route to fusion energy", see page 247 of the book "Laser Plasma Physics, second edition 2016" by Heinrich Hora.

Why is it important?

See publications Laser and Particle Beams, 33 (2015) 607; electronic publication by Elsevier 26 May 2017 for download as .pdf: 1-s2.0-S2468080X16301078-main; Proceedings of SPIE Vol. 10241, 1024114; Physics of Plasmas 23 (2016) 050704 Instead of spherical laser irradiation, there is a single beam ignition with ps laser pulses of 30 kilojoule energy gaining GJ energy of alpha particles. The sequence of present one shot per minute has to be developed to on shot per seond.
