What is it about?

The core emergency ultrasound curricuculum project is a curricular initiative led by members of the CAEP Emergency Ultrasound Committee. In this first report - we describe our process for determining desired ultrasound-related learning outcomes for all Canadian EM trainees (modified Delphi) as well as put forth a proposal as to how to accomplish this minimal standard of training throughout Canada.

Why is it important?

Developing core emergency ultrasound curriculum objectives through collaboration with emergency ultrasound educators at nearly every institution/program in Canada means that the next steps of sharing teaching materials and assessment tools are that much more likely to be successful. It is our goal that we can develop a comprehensive curriculum for all Canadian EM programs to use freely through a Creative Commons-like agreement.
