What is it about?
The field of Linguistic Landscapes engages with the visible language in public space that is familiar from everyday life: shop signs, street name signs, advertising, graffiti, certain online environments, and so on. Using photographic fieldwork evidence from three continents, this volume discusses major understandings and methodologies in the field and offers new sociolinguistic perspectives which follow from the view of Linguistic Landscape as dynamic discourse in the public eye.
