This article examines the media, mostly print, introduction of Spanish refugee children from their civil war to the Soviet audience that was now to raise them as their own. It became part of a chapter in Stalin's Niños: Educating Spanish Civil War Refugee Children in the Soviet Union, 1937–1951 (Toronto: 2020)
